The History, the traditions, religion and celebrations, our culture.
The municipalities that comprise the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range possess an extensive festive heritage which includes religious, pagan and commemorative celebrations. On the cultural calendar, music plays a relevant role, performed in spectacular settings like Son Marroig or Torrent de Pareis. A large part of the artistic heritage can be seen in museums which preserve the legacy of generations, exhibiting displays of archaeology, religious or contemporary art and also paintings and sculptures by artists whose work transmits the impression the Serra made on them. The cultural inheritance is also made up of the mark left by people who will forever be associated to Tramuntana, such as King Jaume I, the mystic Ramon Llull, Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria or that romantic pair, musician Frédéric Chopin and writer George Sand.
